Chapter 10 summary
In Module 10 of “The Internet” the use of data, how it is handled, processed and manipulated is explained. The module explains the different types of data and technical terminology such as: dataset, data cleansing, data aggregation etc. All of the reading in this module was new to me; I learned a great deal of the terminology and what it means in the world of the Internet. One of the things I found interesting is how much company, social media companies in particular, use our data to sell and share in order to sell products and push information using algorithms. The module was very interesting, even if it was only scratching the surface of data utilization.
