Chapter 7 summary
In Module 7 of “The Internet” wireless networking and wireless security is explained. The book goes over the history of wireless networking, its evolution, security concerns and how to protect the network and devices from potential threats. This was an interesting module for me, many of the terms that I see working with my home computer such as: MAC address, wireless standards (802.11, 802.11b etc.) Bluetooth, among many others that I read in Module 7 were explained in detailed and I have better understanding on how these work. The security threats and how to protect the wireless network whether at home or office was beneficial, I did not know that I could make my wireless network invisible to others or that a hacker could hack my device via Bluetooth at close range. This module was good read filled with great information that I will certainly use in the future. .
