Chapter 2 summary
In Chapter 2 in “New Perspectives The Internet” it goes into the details of what is electronic mail (E-mail) and to use the different e-mail systems available on the Internet. This chapter also covers in a depth tutorial on using different features in the Google mail system known as “G-Mail”. The topics covered in this chapter were very familiar to me. Sending and receiving e-mails in the last couple of years has become a normal everyday communication method either at work or for personal matters. I personally did not get a whole lot of new information from this chapter, other than how the e-mail system handles the outgoing/incoming mail using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol and Post Office Protocol. The chapter was still a good refresher about the features of the e-mail systems available and how it works.
